this year we begin with a little more momentum than usual, the allotment is mostly under straw (which makes everything look a little bit brown and autumnal):
see? very few weeds on the new plot. our tires (or "tyres" for our uk readers, ha! silly spelling) have been evicted by order of the city, so the row of herbs above the black strip of weed cloth may be gone soon as they didn't like being uprooted, it seems that the mother of all sage plants, however, is doing fine!
and i've even had time to do some burning:
effectively we had 5 years of scrap wood and tree limbs from the wild patch just piled up on the side of our patch, it took me six hours over three days to burn it all, good times!
