one thing that we are semi-proud of, but still semi-not so proud of, is our winter squash ...
we have 10 plants in the ground, but we got them in late so the results have been slightly disappointing, as of august 15th we had 7 squashes growing including the earliest bloomer just below:
it took forever for the female flowers to form and then after one massive weekend of rain, they seem to have formed continuously, so perhaps the lesson is get them in on time and water, water, water ... here is the patch!
we've had a pretty bad problem with leafs yellowing too, but it may be just lack of water, and below here is the patch after mulching, looking pretty tidy ...
