one of the big projects for this spring is to remove the big compost piles that we have at the top of the plot and replace them with raised beds, so step one is completed:
i replaced the old wood pile (now ashes) with the compost pile ...
and then at the top of the new plot i put the second pile, hopefully that space will be more tidy now (leeks still in the ground, btw).
and there is our new candidate for a raised bed:
you can see that the left side is where the old compost pile was and the on the right the other frame is still in place, the soil here should be very good, but ... the reason why they were placed here to begin with is because of a ton of plastic in the soil, so hopefully one way of solving this problem is with some soil tlc, a raised bed and no growing anything that grows underground, just in case.
