alpine gardens

so, as nothing much is really going on in our garden (or should i say a lot is going on, but most of it has to do with weeding and restoring order to our plot) i thought i would post pictures of two gardens that we saw on our trip to the french alps ...


here is the perfectly manicured public pea patch in the center of megeve, a place where it is difficult to imagine that anyone ever gets there hands dirty, although in fairness to the locals the "lux" town is surrounded by farms with real farmers.

and here is a garden at around 7000 ft outside of this adorable little restaurant on one of the big "hills" facing mt. blanc (just behind the trees on the right):


those are raspberries on the right and a floor of lettuce in the center, which inspired me to be more serious about our lettuce in our allotment (more on this next time).
