pampas grass

one of the few things that we have done in the fleeting weeks before you-know-who comes is to do just a tiny bit of weeding, and part of that was to lay a small path of pampas grass down:

last year we decided that one great use for all of the clippings from our monstrous pampas grass plant in our backyard was to put it down on our paths in the allotment, remarkably it doesn't fly away and it is pretty durable too ... let's not be so 'pampas' about what we use in the garden!
