just to save time, this post is on random september bits and bobs, first we have our september tour, unfortunately cut short due to a full memory (not mine of course), and then today we celebrated a successful decamping of one of our faithful compost bins, we are planning on putting together a mega-bin after everything we cut down in july and part of that involved disassembling the old bins in order to serve as an "activator" for the new "compost massif," here the final panel of the pile is still standing (these panels were built from scrap, like 5 years ago now and they are still together!):
then we have our kookie use of eggshells as a slug deterrent, we have crushed what must be 1000s of eggs in our food processor and now have an near endless supply of eggshells, here they are surrounding some of the nifty "year round" lettuce that we planted, that so far still looks good:
and then finally, as m said the other day, we grew something else organically this year, and here she is taking a well deserved snooze in the morning sunshine:
