a yearly tradition

you know that things have finally got underway when we are brave enough to finally put the broad beans (fava beans) in the ground:

usually its the very first thing to go directly in the ground, although this year we are experimenting with direct sowings of lettuce, rocket, and fennel (which we have never grown before), on display here is all of our "tqm" (total quality mulching, hahaha!)
